Oren Mcbroom

Oren Albert (Boots) McBroom was born to Thomas M. And Leola McBroom in Summerfield, Texas (Deaf Smith Co.) on March 11, 1920. He was a resident of Randall County since 1929 and attended Canyon schools. Boots married Mary Osborn in 1946 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Canyon"s F Company, Texas 36th Division and in the European Theater (Africa, Italy, France, Germany, and Austria) from 1940-1945. He owned and operated McBroom Garage and Alignment shop from 1952-1978. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon, a life member of 36th Division, and a life member of V.F.W. Boots was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, two sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to Dreamland Cemetery, P.O. Box 38, Canyon, TX 79015.
