December 31, 1969 — February 14, 2004

Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2004 University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister officiating. She will be buried in Dreamland Cemetery. Opal Cross Sims was born on July 29, 1917 in Kirkland, Texas to Joe O. Cross and Linnie E. McMinn Cross. She attended high school in Kirkland, Texas and later married Luther Sims in Harmon County, Oklahoma in 1938. He preceded her in death in 2000. She had lived in Midland, Corpus Christi, and Divine before moving to Canyon in 1976. She was a lifetime member of the University Church of Christ, the Church of Christ Ladies Bible class, the University Church of Christ Hilltoppers, and the Beta Sigma Phi in Canyon. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Ray Cross. Survivors include one son, Dale Cryer and wife, Iva, of Canyon; one daughter, Georgie Graves and husband, Richard, of Canyon; 3 grandchildren, and 4 greatgrandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children"s Home, 11461 S. Western Street, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
