Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 6 at Dreamland Cemetery with Davlyn Duesterhaus, BSA Hospice Chaplain, officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Opal was born January 12, 1915 in Lueders to Frank and Flora Garrett. She grew up on a farm in Jones County. She was the oldest of 8 children. In 1938, Opal married Claud Eddleman. He preceded her in death in 1991. Opal enjoyed working in her yard and was always known for her beautiful flowers and well-manicured lawn. She most enjoyed being "Grannie" to her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alton Eddleman; and brothers, William Garrett, Arnold Garrett, Cleve Garrett, Carl Garrett, Ford Garrett, Arwood Garrett, and Robert Garrett. Survivors include daughter, Gay Seals and husband, Bill, of Canyon; 6 grandchildren, Jerry Eddleman and wife, Donna, Tina Hummell and husband, Marty, Paula Barton, Jody Tarrant and husband, Donnie, Shane Seals and wife, Jodi, and Brent Seals; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Make A Wish Foundation, 411 S. Fillmore St. Amarillo, TX 79101 or to the patients of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, in care of Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
