Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. David Gadberry, pastor of The Summit, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be at 4:00 P.M. in Restlawn Cemetery in Hereford, TX. Nora Lee Summers was born on February 10, 1934 in Monroe City, MO to Wallace and Glessie Finney Shelton. She moved to Hereford in 1949 and was a graduate of Hereford High School. Nora enjoyed a simple life and had a passion for cooking for family and friends, gardening, and garage sales. She was an avid Texas Ranger fan and loved college football and girls college basketball. Nora also enjoyed keeping up with friends and family on Facebook and gathering with her neighborhood friends. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Hereford and attended First Baptist Church of Canyon for a number of years. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and loved preparing Christmas stockings each year for underprivileged children. Nora was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Wallace Shelton, Jr. and Buddy Shelton, one sister, Dorothy Franklin, and a son, Ronnie Ward. Survivors include three children, Connie Cooper and husband, Ed, of Canyon, Kevin Ward and wife, Melissa, of Houston, and Karen Kriegshauser and husband, Coby, of Amarillo; two brothers, Floyd Shelton and wife, Jaquita, of Amarillo, and Bobby Shelton and wife, Janie, of Ft. Worth; three sisters, Shirley Adams Young and husband, J. T., Reva Weatherly and husband, Bob, and Linda Warren, all of Canyon Lake; nine grandchildren, Christie Prisk, Dewey Gragson, April Horton, Holly Long, Stormie Ward, Kambrie Kriegshauser, Barry Kriegshauser, Brandi Kriegshauser, and Adrian Brandon; and numerous great-grandchildren.
