Nelda Guy Ricketts

Nelda Guy Ricketts, 88, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Nolan Silvey officiating.

Nelda Guy Lawrence was born August 29, 1934 in Hereford, Texas to Guy and Bessie (Gunn) Lawrence. She graduated from Hereford High School and attended West Texas A&M University.

Nelda married Forrest Ricketts on July 13, 1952 in Hereford, Texas. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Nelda worked for several companies throughout the years including, The Hereford Brand, First Printing Co., and Tarrant County College.

She and Forrest were longtime members of Covenant Love Christian Church in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Nelda was a devoted Christian and a loving mother who raised five children. She was also very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved when they would stop by for a visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Bessie Lawrence.

Survivors include her husband, Forrest Ricketts; her children, Janet Owens and husband, David, Jeff Ricketts and wife, Emma, Sara Wieck and husband, Chris, Celia McCallie and husband, Jack, Dan Ricketts and wife, Sheila; her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; her sister, Melba Gay Cooper, of Boise, Idaho; and her husband's siblings and their spouses.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
