Nancy Hunt

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Canyon with Dr. David Lowrie, Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Carolyn was born on April 29, 1934 in Waldo, Arkansas to Clifton and Annie Lois Honea. She graduated from Texas State College for Women in Denton. She married David O. Hunt on June 23, 1957 in Rule, Texas. Carolyn was a loving wife and mother, totally devoted to her family. After moving to Canyon in 1964, Carolyn worked at West Texas State University as assistant to Paige Carruth, Dean of Men, and later as Director of Housing. She also worked for the Texas Department of Health in Canyon. She had a passion for Bridge and enjoyed traveling and camping out with her family. She took great pride in her flower gardens and raising her boys. Carolyn made many friends in Canyon and they were a great comfort to her in her later years. Survivors include two sons, Kyle Hunt and wife, Lee Ann, of Chandler, AZ, and Michael Hunt and wife, Chip, of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Allison Hunt, of Chandler, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Southwest AMBUCS, PO Box 2827, Amarillo, Texas 79105 to provide Amtrykes for disabled children.
