Monty Platt

Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Robert A. Busch, Ph.D, as celebrant. A vigil will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Brooks Chapel with Deacon Gabe Rivas officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Monty Dale Platt was born on October 17, 1969 in Canyon to Tommy Joe and Patricia Tucker Platt. He received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from West Texas State University. He was a 24 year veteran of law enforcement and worked for the West Texas A&M University Police department, his extended family. Monty loved his career and was dedicated to the service of others. He was a member of the Blue Knights and HOG. He married RoseAnne Rivera at St. Thomas Catholic Church on August 24, 2002, and Monty dearly loved his son, Thomas Joseph. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Joe Platt, and a son, Daniel James Platt. He is survived by his wife, RoseAnne Platt, of the home; his son, Thomas Joseph Platt, of the home; a sister, Melissa Mosley and husband, Robert of Amarillo; two nephews, Logan and Max Mosley; and his mother, Patricia Platt, of Canyon. The family suggests memorials be to the Thomas Platt Scholarship Fund. Deposits can be made at any First United Bank.
