Monica Sue Little

October 7, 1954 — December 24, 2025

Canyon

One of God’s singers went home on Christmas Eve this year. Monica Sue Drennan Little passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas with Steve McLean, minister of Canyon Hills Church of Christ, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Monica was born on October 7th, 1954, in Marion County, Patoka, Illinois, the only daughter of Robert Bryan Drennan and Arlene Wyche Drennan, and one brother, Charles Drennan.

Later, RB Drennan was awarded a position with Mobil Oil in Corsicana, TX, where Monica spent the early years of her life. She attended Corsicana High School, where she participated in both the Corsicana High Band and Drill Team.

After graduating high school, Monica attended Navarro College in Corsicana, TX, where she met the love of her life in the Engineering Wing, aka the Atrium of Navarro College, her husband, Truman Dale Little, Jr. This began the happiest years of both of their lives.

Truman and Monica were married May 4th, 1973, in the backyard of her parents’ house at 1424 Mockingbird Lane. As Truman was finishing his degree at Texas A&M, Monica held many different jobs to make ends meet, including the Collin Street Bakery in Corsicana to Otis Engineering Corporation in Carrollton, TX, where Monica and Truman moved for their first “grown-up” jobs, and also gave birth to one son, Brian Cameron Little, in 1984.

When Brian was a little older, Monica decided to go back to college and get her degree in education, as she had such a passion for teaching elementary-aged children how to read. She completed her studies at Dallas Baptist University and achieved her dream of becoming a reading teacher, mostly teaching at Kemp ISD in Kemp, Texas.

Monica, Truman, and Brian spent over 13 years living in Waxahachie, TX, where they were all members of the College Street Church of Christ, now renamed Brown Street Church of Christ. There were many members of that church whom Monica and Truman loved and cherished dearly for many years.

In 2005, Monica and Truman decided to move closer to her job, where they started attending Gilmer Baldridge Church of Christ in Ennis, TX, serving the Lord there until their move to Canyon in 2011. Truman briefly served as a deacon for Gilmer Baldridge with Monica diligently serving alongside him.

In 2011, they decided to retire and wanted to achieve another lifelong dream: to move closer to family in Amarillo, TX. Some of the family’s happiest memories were going to Amarillo every July for the Little family reunion. Upon settling into their final home together, 45 Jynteewood Circle, in Canyon TX, Monica and Truman spent the next many years attending and serving the Canyon Hills Church of Christ.

Monica is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years. She is survived by her son, Brian Little and wife, Heather of Waxahachie, TX; and grandchildren, Thomas, Andrea, and Jacob Davis all of Waxahachie.

The family would like to give special thanks to Bristol Hospice in Waxahachie and Brookdale Assisted Living in Waxahachie for the excellent care and support they provided to Monica.

The family also wants to welcome people to make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or The Ronald McDonald House, 1501 Streit Dr. Amarillo, TX 79106 in Monica’s honor.
