Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 30 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 29 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Lucille was born February 12, 1918 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to Crawford and Mable Gross Walker. She was a strong woman and dedicated mother, raising her sons basically on her own. She loved her family and people. She was always hugging everyone. She had a sweet loving heart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved the Lord. She crocheted homemade dish cloths to give away. She was a huge John Wayne fan and loved watching professional bowling. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elvis Walker; a grandson, Justin Maynard; and a great granddaughter, Kathleen Maynard. Survivors include her brother, Herbert Walker, of Odessa; four sons, Charles Smyrl, of Canyon, Jerry Smyrl, of Florida, Norman Smyrl and wife, Sherry, of Oakridge, TN, and Richard Smyrl and wife, Sherrie, of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Kristy, Jennifer, Joe, Christie, Stephanie, Tim, Tracy, and Eric; and twelve great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the High School Bowling Program at Western Bowl, 5120 Canyon, Dr., Amarillo, TX 79109.
