Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Johnston, associate pastor, and Rev. Ricky Winstead, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. Minnie Lou Winstead was born on February 14, 1919 to Aubrey B. and Ressie Florida Merrill in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was employed at the Air Force Base as a parachute packer and a unit clerk at North West Hospital and St. Anthony"s Hospital. She married Joe Marlin Winstead on January 14, 1938 in Madisonville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, Women"s Book Club, Singles Together, Murry Bible Class, Crusaders Class and the Juanelva Rose Circle. Minnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Canyon. She has been a life time resident of Canyon since 1938. She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Kathryn Hefner, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her two sons, Merrell Winstead of Happy, and Joe Marlin Winstead of Madisonville, Kentucky; daughter, Brenda Winstead of Livingston, Montana; two sisters, Hazel Roberts of Madisonville, Kentucky, and Martha Nichols of Madisonville, Kentucky; and brother, Raymond Merrill of Evansville, Indiana. Family requests memorial be sent to the First United Methodist Church; 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas.
