Minnie Grabbe

December 31, 1969 — August 2, 2012

Minnie Ellen Wright Grabbe spent her last few days surrounded by her family and passed peacefully at the age of 92. Born near House, New Mexico on October 4, 1919, she was the fourth of six children of Sim and Ova Wright. She began her life in Texas when she and Oliver Grabbe married February 19, 1938. They enjoyed 62 years together before his passing on December 17, 2000. They raised four children. Her life was full of constant activity, fun, seriousness, laughter and strong opinions. She loved raising her family, sewing, canning, crafts, gardening and flowers. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Canyon, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters and brothers and her first born daughter, Rita Woodfield of Carlsbad, New Mexico. She is survived by her sister, Mae Mills of Clovis, New Mexico; daughters, Dorothy Hunt and husband Larry of Austin, Texas; Linda Rushing and husband Eric of Friona, Texas and son, Don Grabbe of Canyon, Texas; her 13 grandchildren and her 13 great grandchildren. Her family would like to thank all of Minnie"s care givers who enabled her to remain in her home until recently, and the caring staff of Odyssey Hospice for their care and attention.
