Michael Wiley Trumbly, 49, of Canyon, Texas passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025. Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, December 6, 2025 at First Methodist Church, 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon. The services will be live streamed through First Methodist Church’s Facebook page.
Michael was born on June 12, 1976, in Borger, Texas, to David and Janet (Mason) Trumbly. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1994 and earned his Master of Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University in 2017. Michael served as a Project Manager at Sandia National Laboratories.
He was an extraordinary man who embraced life wholeheartedly, making the most of every moment. Traveling was his greatest passion. Not only did he explore many places throughout his life, there were always trips scheduled for the future. Michael was born an entrepreneur. Since he was a young lad of 9 years old, he began mowing yards when he could barely see over the mower handle. Later, he took up selling Christmas and greeting cards, popcorn, candy and anything else that would make a buck!! He was one driven individual. Known for his meticulous organization, Michael delighted in and was a multi-faceted spreadsheet genius. He also enjoyed hunting and playing pool, yet nothing meant more to him than his family and friends, whom he cherished deeply.
Michael and Courtney married on June 2, 2025, in Aruba.
Michael is survived by his wife, Courtney Trumbly; parents, Doug and Janet Wooten; children, Berkley Trumbly (Brook Dow); Ethan, and Emily Trumbly; Mother and father-in-law, Beverly and Ray Grimes, stepchildren, Carrington Thomas (Lily Henson) and Barrett Thomas; brother, James Trumbly and children, Jack and Jane; sister, Tamyra Manasco (Derek) and children, Brynlee and Brody; Aunts, Lorraine Mason (Tom Corley); Karen Weir (Jim), Diana Snow (Jim), and Patty Payne (Randy Prock); numerous cousins, extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, David Trumbly; grandparents, Red and Betty Trumbly, Earl and Betty Barkley; and Uncle, Mark Trumbly.
The love, laughter, and impact Michael left behind will continue to impact all who knew him. Heaven has received an amazing man.
