Mickey was born on August 27, 1951 to Naomi Elizabeth (Long) and Thomas Edward Brisendine in Hereford, Texas where he spent his life until moving to Canyon, TX in 2019. Growing up with all the benefits of a small, rural community in a home where success was measured by commitment and hard work, he developed a sense of independence at an early age. From mowing lawns as a young boy to traveling with a wheat harvest crew to North Dakota for the entire summer before his senior year of high school, he decided early in life that there was no job too hard to provide for himself and his family. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1970. It was at the A&W Drive In, cruising the teen "drag" of Hereford in his 1963 Chevy Impala, that he met his "forever" companion, Michelle Beckman, who admits his good looks, fearless nature and fun attitude took them to the altar a few months later. They married on December 10, 1971 and later became parents of three beautiful daughters, Gina, Dana and Wendy.
Mickey's life revolved around his job and a house full of girls with all the dance lessons, band instruments, pageants and mall shopping sprees that came with them. He loved every minute of it. Ute Lake became the family's 2nd home with every available summer weekend spent having fun on the water. Later, as the girls married, the family getaway moved to Lake Bridgeport, TX where they could continue to build family memories with grandchildren.
Mickey was a proud employee of Atmos Energy where he served in various capacities until December 2016 when he retired as a Snr. Service Tech after 42 years of service with a company he felt blessed to work for.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast, with a Harley Davidson parked in the garage most of his adult life. A member of a bike club, he and Michelle would often ride through the New Mexico mountains. He made several trips to Sturgis, South Dakota for the national bike rally, sometimes riding home non-stop through the night in order to get back to work. He got along with everyone and felt as comfortable with a large crowd of strangers as he did a room full of friends. The Harleys soon made way for a 2010 Camaro he enjoyed entering in local car shows, bringing home several awards.
Mickey was a member of the Methodist Church, a faithful Christian and proud American who cherished traditional family values.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings: his older brother, Lynn Brisendine, his younger brother, Trent Brisendine, and his sister, Diann Burns.
He leaves behind his wife, Ann (Michelle) Brisendine and his three daughters, Gina Turner and husband, Joel with sons, Sloan, Jake and Mason; Dana Noon and husband, Richard with children, Delaney, Pierce and Genevieve; and Wendy Neighbors and husband, Andrew with children, Noah, Carter and Olivia. Along with them are a brother-in-law, Bob Burns and two sisters-in-law, Linda and Jodi Brisendine, as well as many nieces and nephews that played a special part in his life.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Methodist Church, 501 Main St., Hereford, TX 79045 or to St. Joseph Project, Diocese of Amarillo (Pro Life Ministry) PO Box 5644, Amarillo, TX 79117.
