Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Michael David Atchley, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of May 28th at his home. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Anna St. Church of Christ in Amarillo with Nathan Keller, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Don Atchley and Eva Jean Rhodes Atchley; his brother, Gary Don Atchley; and his best friend, Frank Thompson—all of whom he now joins in rest.
He proudly served as a fireman at PANTEX for 34 years, where his courage, steady presence, and heart for others made a lasting impact. Mike had a way of showing up when it mattered—he took care of people without ever needing to be asked.
He loved the game of golf, his Dallas Cowboys, and the deep friendships he shared at The Cedar Shack, where laughter and loyalty were always on tap.
Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Glenna Atchley, his children: Michelle Jolly and husband Bryan, Jody Atchley, Jason Mays and wife Sara, Justin Mays, and Amber Pacheco and husband Daniel; twelve grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew; and his faithful companion, Sammy, his loving and loyal dog.
Mike's legacy lives on in the lives he touched—through his service, his love, and his quiet but powerful way of always being there when you needed him.
