Meshiele 'Rhonda' Holcombe

Meshiele ‘Rhonda’ Holcombe, 69, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the University Church of Christ with Jon Page and David Lough officiating.

Rhonda was born on November 9, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Deshiele and Clinora (Scott) Cain. She graduated from high school in Chicago and attended Chicago State Women’s College.

Rhonda moved to Canyon in 2009 and worked at Feldman’s Wrongway Diner and in the bakery and as a greeter at Walmart in Canyon. The job that meant the most to her however, was spending several days a week preparing for communion at her church, University Church of Christ. She was devoted to her church, rarely missing a service, and was heavily involved in various activities.

Rhonda was always willing to help others and sought out those in need, ready to help in any way she was able. Her life centered around her children and grandchildren, and her spirit of hospitality will be forever remembered by her family and all those she made feel welcome at her table. Every holiday was special to her, and she loved decorating elaborately for each one. She made weekly Sunday dinners and birthday celebrations most memorable for her family, and they will greatly miss her kind heart, her love, and her devotion to each of them.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her children, Lashawn Holcombe and wife, LaDonna of Canyon, Jacquiese Holcombe and wife, Jazmin of Canyon, and Tequilla Holcombe of Atlanta, GA; fifteen grandchildren; her mother, Clinora Turner of Chicago, IL; her brother, Duan Cain of Chicago, IL; and her sister, Lesli Cain Cauley of Chicago, IL.
