Merle Ann Lehman

Merle Ann Lehman, 90, of Canyon, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. Gene Jones officiating.
Merle was born on February 12, 1931 in Keenan, Oklahoma to Charles and Mary (Hoffert) Graves. She married Darrel Lehman in April, 1950, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2015. Merle received her Master of Education from West Texas State University and worked for Dalhart ISD as an educational diagnostician. She later worked for Hereford ISD, retiring in 1996. She was passionate about the students and making sure they received the assistance they needed.
Merle was a great cook and also loved sewing, gardening, camping and road trips with Darrel, and especially loved reading. She adored her family and thoroughly enjoyed being together at family events.
Merle is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Mike in 2005 and Steve Lehman in 2020, and a daughter, Debbie Martello in 2016.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Irwin and husband, Bill of Amarillo; her son, Dwight Lehman of Canyon; two grandchildren, Kacie Lehman and Kylie Lovell; and two great-granddaughters, Emmeline and Eleanor.
The family suggests memorials be to the Shriners Children's Hospital, PO Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105.
