Our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother has passed into eternity. Oh, that we all were as prepared for that crossing as she was. Mavadine Yvonne Cummins Morgan was born in Ontario, CA, to Wesley Mac and Cleo Elizabeth Witten Cummins on May 30, 1936. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, a younger sister, Evelyn Marie Cummins Williamson, a brother, Ronald Mac Cummins, a grandson, Zaden Morgan, and her husband of 57 years, John Morgan. She is survived by her children, Ronald Keith Morgan and wife, Rita, Randall E Morgan and wife, Maggie, John Richard Morgan and wife, Brenda, and Mevlyn Yvonne Morgan Moudy and husband, Tim; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mavadine, or Madine as she was known to her grands, was a preacher's wife. That was her vocation, and John and Mavadine were an extraordinary team together—a package deal. She knew well the expectations of that role and raised her children to be God-fearing and faithful. She was first and foremost a servant and the consummate caregiver to so many; providing comfort, grace, hospitality, and encouragement to all who knew her. She knew how to love. That was her Super Power! If you've known Mavadine within the past couple of years, you know how dementia had slowly robbed her of her ability to converse and find the words she wanted, and how frustrated that would make her. But she can now look forward to having her new voice, and she'll be speaking fluently the pure language of heaven!
The family wishes to thank Cherise Bloodworth, Amery Watters, Melissa Alvis, Tyanya Smith and her staff at Fountain Hills Memory Care, and Olivia Wesson with Direct Home Care for their devoted attention to mom in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
