Mattie Mae Hall

Mattie Mae Hall, 87, of Canyon, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on April 12, 2023.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 14, 2023 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Rick Enns, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating.

Mattie was born the fourth child of George and Myrtle Chambless in September of 1935. She graduated from Muleshoe High School and made her way to Amarillo to start her career which included work at the Amarillo Airbase where she met Larry Wall. Together they raised sons, Greg and Scott.

Mattie moved to Canyon in 1976, where she worked at the First United Methodist Church and retired from the Texas Department of Health.

Mattie loved her friends in Canyon and especially her Methodist Women's Group as well as her card playing crew of ladies.

Mattie was an animal lover and in particular dogs with soft fur.

Mattie is survived by her sons, Greg Wall, and Scott Wall and wife, Gwen; grandson, David Wall; brother, Richard Leon Chambless; several cousins and many nephews and nieces that she adored.

Mattie's family wants to express their gratitude to Jyeton and Eric Johnigan and Anne Fields for their loving care in the last days of Mattie's life.
