Mary Stipe

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. David Crump, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Mary Sue Stipe was born on March 1, 1936 in Canyon to William and Estelle Rice. She married James Stipe in Clovis, NM in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2003. She worked in the Deli at Taylor & Sons in Canyon for twenty-six years. After retiring, she volunteered at Canyon Healthcare for many years where she loved helping the residents play Bingo. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she attended a Bible study group until she could no longer attend. Mary Sue also loved family gatherings, cooking, baking, and working in her yard. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Stipe, in 1963. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Diane Sanders, of Amarillo, Sally Jo DeHay and husband, Bill, of Amarillo, and Tracy Lynn Criss, of Canyon; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Rice, of Canyon.
