Mary Louise Fees Jacob, 97, of Canyon, died Monday June 23, 2003 in Amarillo. Memorial services will 11:00 AM Thursday June 26, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon with The Rev. Dr. Don McDonald pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM Friday June 27, 2003 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Louise Jacob was born Nobember 19, 1905 in Oklahoma Indian Territory near Harrah. She was the only child of Nelle Anthony and Emerson Fees. At the age of 16 she graduated Valdictorian from Harrah High School and began attending the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. She graduated from OU in 1921 with a Lifetime Teaching Certificate. She received her masters of education from OU in 1923. She taught at Northwestern Teachers College in Alva, Ok six years, Connors Junior College in Warner, OK for five years. She taught elementary and secondary levels in Colorado and Oklahoma for fifteen years. August 5, 1931 she married Albert Ralph Jacob in Norman, OK. He preceded her in death in 1969. They lived in Alva and Cherokee, OK where her husband was county agent. They moved to Colorado for five years then returned to Oklahoma to continue their education. Mrs. Jacob taught at Woodward, OK until retirement in 1970 when she moved to Canyon. In Canyon she was a member of American Association of University Women, The Women's Book Club, Methodist Women's Circle, Canyon Senior Citizens, The Order of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta Sororities and attended the First Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by an infant son John Emerson Jacob in 1949 and an infant grandaughter Kelly Ann McCasland in 1972. Survivors include 3 Daughters, Jane Hildebrandt, of Frederick MD, Joyce Johnson Greeley, CO, and Joan McCasland of Happy,TX; 12 Grandchildren, and 21 Great Grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Children's Home or favorite charity.
