Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough and Bob Shepard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Brooks Chapel. Private interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mary Sue Hicks Ezziddine was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. She was born on July 27, 1937 in Hobbs, NM to William Ray and Bessie Marie Hicks. She graduated from Canyon High School, Class of 1955 and went on to graduate from West Texas State University (WTAMU), Texas Southern University, and Cal State, Bakersfield. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education, specializing in the learning disabled and emotionally disturbed child. She taught at Tulia ISD, Dimmitt ISD, Arabian American Oil, McFarland ISD, Amarillo State Center, and Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Sue was a member of National Honor Societies and enjoyed reading, painting, sewing, copper enameling and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the healthcare providers at Kindred Hospital. Survivors include her son, David Ezziddine and wife, Kristan, of Portland OR; three brothers, Don Hicks and wife, Elaine, of Mesa, AZ, Gary Hicks, of Dewey, AZ, and Thom Hicks and wife, Susan, of Canyon, TX; Cousin, Helen and Ogden Wilson, of Perryton, TX; close, personal friends, Elaine Smith, Anna Halencak, Zona Christopher, and Lance and Audrey Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Plains Children's Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79106.
