Martha Anne Dufek Payne

Martha Anne Dufek Payne, 85, of Happy, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Happy with Wesley Holland, minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Viewing will be in Happy's Memorial Chapel starting on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M.

Martha was born on October 1, 1935 in Arp, Texas to Frank and Ethel Dufek. She was raised in Hutchins, Texas and graduated in 1954 from Wilmer-Hutchins High School. She then received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1958. Martha married Richmond Johnson Payne on January 26, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Hutchins. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Happy.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband on February 4, 1995, her father on December 20, 1980, her mother on November 9, 1985, sister, Mary Sprawls on August 9, 1986, and brother, Frank E. Dufek, III on December 24, 1938.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Dietz and husband, Keith, of Canyon and Andi Molloy and husband, Oren Don, of Memphis; five grandchildren, Kedra Giddens and husband, Tory, Chad Dietz and wife, Lacee, Colt Molloy and wife, Jill, Yancy Molloy and wife, Kilee, and Callie Rodriguez and husband, Ezequiel; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 56, Happy, Texas 79042.
