Mark Moudy, 75, of Happy, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at his home. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Happy Church of Christ with Rick Bloodworth officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Happy's Memorial Chapel.
Mark was born on July 17, 1950 in Tulia, Texas to Foy E. and Lucy (Blake) Moudy. He graduated from Happy High School in 1968 and later attended classes at Lubbock Christian College. He married Susan Sims in Happy on December 30, 1971, and they spent their lives in Happy raising their family, farming, and ranching.
Mark served in the Army Reserve for six years and served on the Happy High School Board of Trustees for 12 years. He was a longtime, faithful member of the Happy Church of Christ where he also served as an elder. Of greatest importance to Mark were his faith, his family, whom he cherished, and his lifelong farming and ranching that he loved dearly, including his many goats and chickens.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Susan Moudy; three daughters, Elaine Devaney and husband, Larry of Melrose, NM, Lori Cummings and husband, Keith of Maui, Hawaii, and Karen Sawyer and husband, Aaron of Amarillo; son, John Mark Moudy and wife, Joy of Abilene; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren with two more on the way; and four siblings, Eddie Moudy and wife, Beth of Abilene, Anne Rollins of Lubbock, Metta Paden and husband, Tim of Lubbock, and Tim Moudy and wife, Mevlyn of Happy.
