Marion Williams

Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Rev. John McClean, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canyon, officiating. Marion Louise Williams was born March 9, 1929 in Amarillo to James and Edna Roach Armstrong. She married Marion "Strawberry" Williams in Amarillo on November 27, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1975. Louise was a long time resident of the Amarillo/Canyon area, and at the age of sixteen she was in the Amarillo Philharmonic, Junior Symphony, A capella Choir, county choir, and ceramics. She owned M.E.W. ceramics in Canyon and enjoyed woodworking, knitting, crocheting, painting, and photography. She retired as a Librarian from West Texas A&M University. She moved to Del Norte, Colorado in May of 2005. Marion Louise is survived by four grandchildren, David Brennen, Lisa Metts, Crystal Karr, and James Williams, all of Iowa; a sister, Helen Akins (Wendell), of Lefors, TX; and aunt, Gladys Armstrong, of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
