Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon with Andy Blair officiating. Margaret Lou Tucek was born on November 5, 1923 in Canyon to Prentice and Lilian Schowe Tate. She was a graduate of Canyon High School and received her teaching certificate from West Texas Teachers College. She married Lewis Tucek on December 31, 1943. He preceded her in death in May of 1995. Margaret taught school for three years before her marriage and then became well known for her birthday and wedding cakes. She loved her family and baking and often recruited her family to help in the baking, decorating, and delivering of her cakes. She was also proud of the fact that she made 50th wedding anniversary cakes for several of the couples she had made wedding cakes for. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also served as a 4-H leader and was a member of the Square Dance Club in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include two children, Lucy Robbins, of Borger and Gary Tucek and wife, Jimmie, of Avery; three grandchildren, Cortney Shaller and husband, Steve, of Canyon, Rocko Robbins, of Borger, and Josh Robbins, of Canyon; three great-grandchildren, Rylee and Sydney Shaller, and Brock Robbins; and many nieces and nephews.
