Margaret Ruthart

Margaret Ellen Ruthart, 76, of Amarillo, died Saturday, November 2, 2002. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 4, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. Strauss Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Margaret was born on December 28, 1925 at Clarendon to James and Nora Lillard Billingsley. She graduated from Oklahoma Lane High School and married Crawford Ruthart in Canyon on February 5, 1945. They were long time residents of Canyon where she worked for Canyon Independent School District and West Texas State University in the Accounting Department. After Crawford's retirement, they moved to Amarillo where she was a member of and active in the First Baptist Church of Amarillo. She was also involved in Senior Citizens. She loved her family and was lovingly called 'Nan' by her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nora Billingsley, one sister, Lucille Berry, and one son, Ronald Gene Ruthart. Survivors include her husband, Crawford Ruthart, of the home, three daughters, Sharon Henry, of Canyon, Karen Sue Dulaney, of Canyon, and Donna Gail Ruthart, of Amarillo, two sisters, Jo Veta Darnell, and Zell Cain, both of Amarillo, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890 Amarillo, Texas 79174.
