Mae Morse, 87, of Canyon, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Terry Beavers, chaplain at Brookdale Senior Living, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mae was born on June 20, 1937 in Canadian, Texas to Millard and Edith (Richardson) Donaldson and graduated from Allison High School. She married Roland Morse on October 6, 1957 in Allison, and they were happily married for 61 years before he preceded her in death on January 17, 2018.
Mae drove a school bus for Dumas ISD for 14 years before they moved to Amarillo and later to Canyon. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon and after moving to Brookdale Senior Living, she attended church there. She was an ambassador for Brookdale and also an instructor for the diamond art classes. She was a member of Canyon Country Club where she and Roland enjoyed many years of golfing. She was also a member of the Ladies Golf Association.
In her earlier years, Mae enjoyed sports and played volleyball and basketball. She gave lessons in roller skating and loved bowling and snow skiing. She also took great pleasure in crafting and painting.
Mae was also preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Jane Helm, Bobby Donaldson, John Donaldson, Dolores Whitten, Vance Donaldson, and Diana Odneal.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Bose and husband, David of Amarillo: her son, Ronnie Morse and wife, Kim of Tijeras, NM; 6 grandchildren, Danielle Murray and husband, Travis of Salina, KS, Eric Bose and wife, Sarah of Amarillo, Kris Atchison and husband, James of Plainsville, KS, Mitchell Morse and wife, Jessica of Albuquerque, NM, Mindy Cave and husband, Jeremy of Albuquerque, NM, and Mathew Morse of Albuquerque, NM; 13 great grandchildren, Beckett and Payson Murray, Addison, Morgan, and Jace Bose, Kinley, Grant, Tabor, and Seth Atchison, and Jaden, Ivy, Miles, and Mason Morse; and three brothers, Bill Donaldson of Allison, TX, Wally Donaldson of Canyon, and Colie Donaldson of Houston, TX.
