Lynn Blewett

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 6 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David L. Lowrie, Jr., pastor, and Jim Hancock, officiating. Burial is in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 5 at Brooks Chapel. Lynn Edward Blewett went home to be with his savior, Thursday, January 1, 2009. Lynn "Skeeter" was born December 19, 1932 on a small farm south of Friona, Texas to Joe and Irene Blewett. He was raised in Canyon where he worked for Bellah"s, Cooper"s, and Lowe"s grocers for a span of 56 years. He married LaDonna Keller on December 24, 1954 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Lynn was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was patient and kind and was very supportive of his family, friends, and community. Lynn was an avid supporter of Canyon Eagle athletics. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and youth sponsor. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Lucy Gore, and three siblings. Survivors include his wife, LaDonna Blewett, of the home; two daughters, Becky Poland and husband, Yale, of White Deer, TX, Tammy Bennett and husband, Donnie, of Duncan, OK; three granddaughters, Beth Mize and husband, Chris, of Canyon, Shannon Lang and husband, Wes, of Amarillo, Tacy Bennett, of Canyon; two grandsons, Timothy Poland, of White Deer, Cody Bennett, of Duncan, OK; and four great grandchildren, Brooke and Emily Mize, of Canyon, Madison and Ethan Lang, of Amarillo.
