Lynda Jones

Lynda J. Jones, age 73 years, of Canyon passed away August 27, 2018. She was born July 14, 1945 to Asa and Alma (Bowker) Smith. She worked as a dedicated administrative assistant most of her life. Lynda, honored matriarch, is survived by her children: Jeff Jackson, Julie Rowan, Jamie Jackson (spouse Nick Coker-Jackson), and Lisa Jones, Dave Jones (spouse Glory), Scott Jones (spouse Jill) and Steve Jones; and grandchildren: Jordan Rowan Bernard (spouse Seth), Kate Rowan, and Jake Jones, Ben Jones, and Sam Jones; and one great-grandson: Scriven Elias Bernard; and one sister, Beverly Read; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends whom she treasured dearly. She was preceded in death first by her husband, Keith Logan Jackson of Lincoln, Nebraska (June 22, 1943 – May 11, 1995) then later by her husband William Lee Jones of Canyon (April 7, 1930 – September 18, 2016). She was also preceded in death by her parents and three siblings. She was a beloved member of Freedom Fellowship Church of Canyon and enjoyed donating her time and talents to the FFCC's "Freedom House." She enjoyed hosting family and friends, seeing her legacy bloom around her. A kind and generous soul, she inspired and blessed all those who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Freedom Fellowship Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31.
