Lorine Childers

December 31, 1969 — July 21, 2004

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Clark Williams, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canyon, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Lorine Blondell Childers was born on April 30, 1916 in Canyon to Ed and Bonnie Woods Mickle. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1934 and attended West Texas State Teachers College. She was a Cub Scout den mother and worked out of her home as a self employed seamstress. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Mickle, Jr., in 2001, one sister, Mary Jean Mickle Gibson, in 2000, and two sons, Robert Alfred Childers, in 2001, and William Edward Childers, in 1984. Survivors include her son, Jim Childers, of Missouri City; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony"s Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79176.
