Lois Meador

March 18, 1925 — February 6, 2015

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 9, 2015 in Palo Duro Wildorado Cemetery with Dr. Ron Muller, pastor of Palo Duro Baptist Church, officiating. Lois Marie Gouldy Meador was born on March 18, 1925 in Wildorado to John and Opal Hodges Gouldy. She graduated from Wildorado High School and attended West Texas State Teachers College. She married Calvin Henry Meador on December 1, 1946, and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1953. Lois was co-owner and worked as secretary and bookkeeper for the family business until she was 82. She loved gardening and painting and was devoted to her sons. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Eldon Gouldy and wife, Icel and Wayne Gouldy, and a sister, Doris McDade and husband, Dee. Survivors include her sons, Wade Meador of Canyon, and Keith Meador and wife, Jan, of Dalhart; her grandchildren, John Meador and wife, Ellise, of Umbarger, Jared Meador and wife, Kendra, of Amarillo, Jay Meador and wife, Audrey, of Hereford, Jaclen Smith and husband, Andy, of Odessa, Jordan Meador, of Odessa, Lauren Barnett and Billy Bob Barnett, of Canyon, and Wade Meador and wife, Kori, of Marietta, OK; great grandchildren, D. J., Kaleigh, Teagen, Lainye, Kutter, Macy, Keelyn, Calvin, Harrison, Oliver, Remington, Kixi, Kall, and Kreely; sisters-in-law, Charolyn Gouldy, of Wildorado, and Lavoice Crites, of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Emilie Batson, of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Cindy Meador, of Canyon; and her beloved dog and companion, Buster; The family suggests memorials be to Palo Duro Wildorado Cemetery.
