Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 2 at Brooks Chapel with Pasotr Darren Dye, of Freedom Fellowship Church, officiating. Interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 1 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Brooks Chapel. Lloyd Dickerson was born in Ventura, California on September 6, 1928 to Ira and Jane Dickerson. Lloyd attended elementary school in Norwalk, California. He was graduated from Excelsior High School in 1947. He attended California Polytechnic University in San Dimas, California. Lloyd was married to Zonell Hendricks in 1948. They pastored a Foursquare Church for seven years in Texarkana, Texas. In 1955 they were appointed as missionaries to South America. For fifteen years they served in Spanish speaking Bolivia, Honduras, and Colombia. In 1972 they moved to the Portuguese speaking country of Brazil where they worked for thirty one years. Lloyd?s passion was church building. Many beautiful churches are a monument to his great love for this ministry. He retired in Canyon, Texas in 2002. He is survived by his wife Zonell and his five children, their spouses, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren which include: Richard and Judy Dickerson and their children Deana, Christopher, and Andrew; Barbara (?Bobbie?) and David Dixon and their children Brandon, Michael, and Jennifer and husband Tom Walling and great grandson Cooper; Janie and Elcio Stocchero and their children Erick and wife Vanessa, Jonathan and wife Ceth, and Marc and wife Izabella; David and Lyn Dickerson and their children Paige and husband Matt Jones, and Stephanie; Ruth and Felix Soliz and their children Audra, Adam, AJ and great granddaughter Khloe, Brittany and husband Ryan, and great granddaughter Mia. He also survived by his siblings Paul, Velma, and Melvin Dickerson, and Ruth and husband Wayne Nogle. The family request that persons wishing to honor Lloyd make contributions to Agape Missions (PO Box 1221, Canyon, Texas, 79015).
