A Promise Kept. When Linda was 10 years old, Jesus made her a promise that if she would trust Him as her savior, then someday she would see Him face to face! That day was October 22, 2025.
A memorial service for Linda Jo Allison Schrib will be held at First Baptist Church in Amarillo at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. A private graveside service will be held at Dreamland Cemetery.
Linda was born to Dennis Lewis (D.L.) and Maurine (Prewitt) Allison on August 1, 1944, in Amarillo. She was raised in Happy, TX. She graduated from Happy High School in 1962 and received a bachelor's degree in business education in 1967 from West Texas State University and a master's degree in education in 1977.
Linda married her high school sweetheart, Jim Schrib, on Valentine's Day of 1970. They moved to Plainview where she taught at Plainview High School. She also taught at Hale Center High School, Wayland Baptist University, Leander High School, and Canyon High School. She retired from education in 2003.
Linda was a member of Canyon Classroom Teachers, a life member of TSTA, and a member and officer of Delta Zeta. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canyon for many years before becoming a member of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo. She enjoyed sports, playing games, music, and theatre. She was also a supporter of Buff basketball. The greatest joy of her life was her five grandchildren. She loved family and friends and her community.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy; children, Steve Landon (Lanny) Schrib and wife, Missy of Dallas and Laura Turner and husband, Dustin of Canyon; a brother, Jim Allison and wife, Rinda of Amarillo; sisters-in-law, Nancy Selvidge of Collinsville, OK and Patsy Christenson of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Benjamin Schrib, Lindley Schrib, Brandt Schrib, Levi Turner, and Ashley Turner; and numerous nephews and nieces.
