Linda Leigh Elbert, 85, of Canyon, passed away on July 30, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Hillside Christian Church Chapel in Amarillo with Jim McKee officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Linda was born January 19, 1941, in Wellington, Texas to Heber and Juanita Brantley. Linda stayed active throughout her life through her involvement in numerous clubs and organizations, including Beta Sigma Phi, Canyon Study Club, the Texas Extension Education Association, and “Bug’s Book Club.” Linda dedicated many years to the Randall County District Attorney’s Office before retiring.

Affectionately known as Grammy or Lin, she will be remembered for her love of travel, her gift for bringing people together, and her talent for planning every detail. She found great joy in organizing family gatherings, hosting unforgettable Christmas parties, and preparing cherished Thanksgiving meals. One of her favorite traditions was coordinating matching family outfits and photos, creating memories that her loved ones will treasure for generations. Her warmth, leadership, generous heart, and dedication to family made every celebration feel special and her legacy of love and togetherness will live on in all who love her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her three children, Randy Elbert and wife, Rachel, Shelli Elbert Estes and husband, Stan, and Kurt Elbert; her six grandchildren, Kourtney Elbert Evans and husband, Chris, Marc Elbert and wife, Hunter, Landry Estes and wife, Kristen, Madison Estes McCutcheon and husband, Josh, Blaire Elbert, and Brooklyn Elbert; nine great grandchildren; and cousins, Heber M. Brantley, Anita Bishop, Melinda Redd, and Nita Janice Edmistion.

To honor Linda’s love of life and celebration, the family invites guests to wear colorful attire to the service.

The family suggests memorials be to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
