Linda Lee Cranmer

January 10, 1943 — May 30, 2024

Linda Lee Cranmer, 81, of Canyon, gained her wings and danced her way into her Lord and Savior's arms on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Linda is finally reunited with her loved ones that preceded her in death, including the love of her life, her husband, Edgar Lloyd Cranmer, her precious son, Kendall Allen Cranmer, her parents, Jesse Lee and Mary Ruth (McMurray) Allen, and her best friends and constant companions: sister, Barbara Ruth Allen Taylor, and her favorite brothers-in-law, Mark "Shorty" Taylor and Walter Cranmer. We believe she is finally whole, healed, ecstatically happy and home!

Linda is survived by her most loved, her son, Edgar Daniel Cranmer (Dan), his wife, one of Linda's best friends and companions, Carol Coburn Gray Cranmer, and Linda's most cherished friend and companion for many, many years, her niece, Debbie Taylor England. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many in-laws, friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Linda was born on January 10, 1942 in Floydada, Texas and moved to Canyon, Texas, where she met and married her life love, Ed on October 10, 1959. Linda was a homemaker, a cattle and dairy farmer's wife, and mother to 2 beautiful boys, Dan and Kenny. She loved her work in the Home Demonstration Club and as a nurse's assistant for more than 25 years at Bivins Home in Amarillo. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Canyon and often sang (beautifully!) and played her favorite hymns on the piano.

Linda loved baking, entering her delicious dishes in many fairs, including the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo, the South Plains Fair in Lubbock and the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. While she won many, many ribbons and countless "Best-of Show" awards for her creations, her heart was most happy when she could share her dishes and her recipes with family and friends. Linda also loved keno, poker, big sparkly jewelry, Ted Nugent, Elvis, Gospel hymns, the Cowboys, watching football and collecting rocks and figurines.

Her family loved her dearly. They loved her humor, her warm and loving hugs, her laughter, her wise words of encouragement, her gorgeous, infectious smile, her independence and her OCD (even though it often drove them crazy!)! Her family most loved that she was hysterically funny and loved to laugh often, usually more often than was normal and appropriate! If you know, you know! Ohhh, how her family will miss her presence every day!

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at First Christian Church of Canyon with Paula Brooks and Mark England officiating. Please bring a favorite rock!
