Lily Mudge

Lily Mudge, 83, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Brooks Chapel.

Lily was born on September 19, 1939 in Belen, New Mexico to Florencio and Erlinda Jaramillo. She married Stanley Mudge on June 23, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for A.T.S.F. Railroad and they traveled with his work living in foreman railcars, known as the Silver Fleet, until 1972 when they moved to Canyon. Stanley preceded her in death on July 10, 2005.

Lily was a devoted employee of the show TEXAS for over 35 years. She loved everything about the show, working as the historian for many years. She was an avid antique collector and thoroughly enjoyed gardening. She loved her home and entertaining, cooking many meals for friends and loved ones. Lily was a wonderful and gracious caregiver, lovingly caring for those who needed her.

Lily and Charles Seery became companions and enjoyed traveling the world, especially Italy, China and Hawaii. They also loved spending time exploring the backroads of New Mexico.

Lily was also preceded in death by her parents, Florencio and Erlinda Jaramillo, a brother, Robert Jaramillo, and a daughter, Melody Turner.

Survivors include her loving companion of 15 years, Charles Seery; her daughter, Marsha Smith and husband, Steven of Canyon; her sons, Rhett Mudge and wife, Staci of Canyon and Shane Mudge and wife, Diane of Aledo; seven grandchildren, Shawn Smith and wife, Jennifer, Sydney Stephenson and husband, Steven, Jake Mudge, Tori Mudge, Brittain Mudge, Jay Luke Mudge, and Parker Mudge; five great-grandchildren; six siblings, Felix Jaramillo and wife, Lorraine, and Delores Smith all of Belen, NM, Rosaline Gray and husband, Wes of Ft. Worth, Jerry Jaramillo and wife, Cecilia, Rick Jaramillo and wife, Glenna, and Floyd Jaramillo, all of Belen, NM. Also surviving her are Charles's family that she dearly loved, his children, Bruce Seery and Megan Orchard, both of Tulsa, three grandchildren, Madeline, Fischer, and Sidney and his four siblings, Frances, Sheila, John, and Jim.

The family suggests memorials be to El Tesoro de la Vida Grief Camp, 2700 Meacham Blvd., Ft. Worth, Texas 76137.
