Leroy Hutton

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Brooks Chapel with Pastor Jerry Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. LeRoy Hutton was born on April 3, 1928 in Clarendon, Texas to Emmit Hutton and Lonie Shook. He served in the US Navy during WWII where he was stationed in Guam. He graduated from Canyon High School, then graduated from Iowa State College with a Bachelor?s degree. After serving in the Navy and graduating from college, he moved home where he and his mother ran an egg farm for several years which was located between Amarillo and Canyon. LeRoy loved politics. He ran and was elected as Randall County Clerk for several terms. He served as Randall County Clerk for 35 years before retiring in the late 90's. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Two of his favorite things in life were Genealogy and his family. LeRoy never married or had any children, therefore, he loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. One of his joys was going to their house on Christmas Eve and helping put together their toys for Christmas morning. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lonie Shook; father and step-mother, Emmit and Matilda Hutton; an older brother, Edgar Hutton; an older sister, Gladys Cordes; and two half-sisters, Madonna Davidson and Billie Jo Raines. Survivors include his sister, Fay Nagorski, of Honolulu, HI; brother, A.D. Hutton and wife, Alice, of Amarillo; two half-brothers, Marvin Hutton, of Lufkin, TX, and Robert Hutton, of Amarillo; nephews, Darrell Hutton and wife, Sharon, of Amarillo, Austin Hutton, of Hereford, and David Lee Cordes and wife, LaHonda, of Odessa, TX; nieces, Sylvia Hutton Parrish and husband, Jim, of Dallas, and Shirley Hutton Blank and husband, Jeff, of Amarillo; seven great nieces and nephews; and four great-great nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
