Leon Morehead

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. Leon Morehead was born on February 7, 1934 in Lone Oak, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1956 to 1958. He worked for Coca Cola Company for many years, then worked at Lake Marvin in Canadian as concessionaire for the U.S. Forrest Service for 7 years. He loved fishing and the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his father and step mother, Albert and Osie Morehead. Survivors include two sons, David Morehead, of Amarillo, and Bill Morehead, of Canadian; three daughters, Linda Dendy, of Yukon, OK, Kathy Minick, of Elk City, OK, and Teresa Walker, of Canyon; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a special family friend, Peggy Morehead.
