Her family moved to Hereford, Texas in 1943 where she grew up and attended school. She married Doyle Shaw on August 11, 1956 and they"ve been residents of the Amarillo/Canyon area for approximately 50 years. Leoda and Doyle have been the owners of Rockin R Self Storage in Canyon for the past 16 years. Leoda was a born again Christian who loved the Lord, her family and friends with all her heart. She had a gift for hospitality and enjoyed hosting huge family gatherings at her home. She became a full time caregiver to her husband after his stroke in August 2000, but she still found ways to stay connected with people. Leoda joined The Red Hat Society, hosted Care Groups from her church in her home and remained the active owner/operator of her storage business. Leoda was preceded in death by her parents.
