Leland Hutson

Leland L. Hutson, 81, of Canyon, died Monday, January 23, 2017. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 27 at Canyon Hills Church of Christ with Bryan Christmas and Steve McLean, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 27 at the Friona Cemetery in Friona. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Leland L. Hutson was born August 11, 1935 in Prosper to Perman and Thelma Hutson. He married Annie Jo Moore on August 16, 1953. He and Annie Jo moved to Friona in 1964 and then to Canyon in 1991. He attended Canyon Hills Church of Christ. Leland served as an elder at the 10th Street Church of Christ in Friona and at Canyon Hills Church of Christ for many years. His true loves were his wife, his family, and his church family. He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hutson and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Annie Jo; three children, Cindy Weatherly and husband, James, Dave Hutson and wife, DeeAnn, and Mike Hutson and wife, Lynn; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Oliphant and husband, Cory, Shayla Shelburne and husband, Chris, Chance Hutson, Landon Weatherly and wife, Jacy, Chad Hutson and wife, Karie, Brandy Schenk and husband, Sean, and Shelby Mata and husband, Jason; and ten great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Christian Relief Fund, P.O. Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114.
