Ft. Worth

Leah Rhea Oakley, 62, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, surrounded with so much love from her family.

Born on March 6, 1964, in Borger, TX, to Charles (Chuck) Oakley (deceased) and Nancy Oakley. From the very beginning, her life was marked by a gentle spirit and a love for those around her. She was always surrounded by family where love, faith, and togetherness shaped the person she would become.

Leah was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Bettes and Stephanie Priddy, her sons-in-law, DeeJay Bettes and Greg Priddy, and her grandchildren Ryan, Natalie, Peyton, Katelyn, Aaron, and Logan, mother, Nancy Oakley, sisters Toni Johnson and Sami Womack, brother-in-law Rick Johnson, nieces and nephews, Alissa, Brady, Cody, Laura, Hanah, Clara, and Waylon.

She had a love for learning and for that her family called her a “professional student.” For years, Leah owned a beauty salon, then she eventually went back to school to become a massage therapist. After helping others in that profession, she decided to pursue a career in nursing where, after graduating, she became a pharmacy tech in a hospital. She was always a hard worker and made sure she put effort into every task she was given.

From an early age, she developed a relationship with God that guided her through every season of her life. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived out daily through kindness, patience, and unwavering love for others. She always showed her love by giving and helping those around her. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their sports events, music performances, and dance recitals. She was so proud of her daughters, their spouses, and their children and loved telling stories about them to others.

Though she is deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide them every day.
