L.C. Craven

L.C. Craven, 91, of Plainview passed away on August 30, 2018. Services will be 10:00 AM on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Brooks Chapel with Donald Powell officiating.  Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo. Arrangements by Brooks Funeral Directors. L.C. was born in Vinson, OK, February 7, 1927 to Luther and Mary Craven. He attended schools in Wellington, TX and Samnorwood, TX. L.C. proudly served his country in the US Army, 125th Division of the 4th Infantry. He served in Japan immediately after the atomic bomb was dropped and had attained the rank of corporal at the time of his honorable discharge at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio. He married Jeannetta Smith in November of 1948 in Amarillo. He retired from Coy Transportation where he worked as a freight salesman. He enjoyed flying single-engine Cessnas, and he was a western swing music lover extraordinaire. But his greatest love was his family. He was a wonderful dad and Papa and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and his beloved son Mike. L.C. is survived by his loving wife, Jeannetta, of 70 years; sons Rafael and wife Judy of Amarillo, and Doug and wife Holly of Livingston; daughter-in-law Toni Craven of Amarillo; grandchildren Lyndie Craven, Anna Lancaster, Rafael Craven, Pam Craven and numerous great-grandchildren.
