Larry Carter was born on April 15, 1949 in Amherst, Texas to Bill and Franciana Blevins Carter. He married Teresa Brown on June 22, 1974 in Vernon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State University. Larry was a manufacturing engineer for Bell Textron for many years. He was a kind and loving man and loved his family and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed working with his hands, building and fixing things, riding his tractor, and being with friends and family. He loved watching his girls" sporting events in high school and college and later his grandchildren"s activities. Larry believed you should always eat dessert first and will be remembered for "getting the dessert out of life." He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. He was preceded in death by his father, William Hollis Carter, and his step father, Hilyar Andrew Carter. Survivors include his wife, Teresa, of the home; two daughters, Katherine Fontenot and husband, Keith, of Lenexa, KS, and Sarah Weston and husband, Chris, of New Braunfels; three granddaughters, Kelsey and Kennady Fontenot, and Wrigley Weston and one grandson, Carter Cub Weston; his mother, Fran Carter, of Littlefield; a sister, Dixie Carter, of Littlefield; a brother, Michael Carter and wife, June, of Lubbock; and his nieces and nephews.
