Larissa Gale Kleuskens

April 2, 1977 — October 25, 2020

Larissa Gale Kleuskens, 43, of Canyon, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 25, 2020. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Brooks Chapel, 1702 5th Ave. in Canyon with Maia Tress, officiating. The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. In consideration of everyone's health and wholeness, masks will be provided.

Born in Amarillo to Dale and Tonya Kleuskens on April 2, 1977, Larissa was a lifelong learner graduating first from Hereford High School and then from her grandmother's beauty school with a nail technician certification. This put her on the path to eventually being distinguished as Outstanding General Business Graduate, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration from WTAMU in May of 2004.

It is said that Larissa was a collector, primarily of the broken, broken hearted or homeless, often dragging fellow teens home during her high school years. Throughout her life, she continued to organically serve and shelter people, collecting many forms of education in support of doing so. Larissa, since 2010, was co-owner and founder of the Garden of Natural Health with her dear friend Traci Mahannah. Of the many educational certificates she received supporting her holistic practice, her first was as Certified Practitioner of Western Herbalism from the Rocky Mountain School of Botanical Studies, followed by certification as a Quantum Biofeedback and Stress Management Specialist, eventually earning her Spiritual Response Therapy certificate in 2016. Her tender, servant's heart helped many in both a personal and professional capacity during her too-short life.

Perhaps the most precious accomplishment of her life was the birth of her son, Stark James Henderson, who in 2010 changed the shape of her days and the paths she trod.

Larissa loved traveling, country life, dancing, ritual, tradition and ceremony, rock shops, music and helping others along their pathways of transformation.

She was survived by her son, Stark James Henderson, parents Dale &Tonya Kleuskens, sister and brother-in-law Brad & Heather Haas, niece Sophia, grandmother Helen Kleuskens, seven loving aunts & uncles, thirteen loving cousins, and many great cousins and extended family members, including chosen family, Jeston, Rylie & Haylie Wilson, Michelle, Rhys & Sean, and Abigail Jenson.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Carl Kleuskens and J.W. & Mona Armstrong, uncle Rick Armstrong, and aunt Sandra Whitson.

When remembering Larissa, you might want to support our local food pantries and/or homeless shelters, something she would have loved.
