Kenneth Sweet

April 26, 1942 — December 7, 2020

Kenneth Eugene Sweet, 78, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Services will be 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 11, 2020 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Jerry Smith, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel.

Kenneth was born on April 26, 1942 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Orion and Mildred Giland Sweet.

Kenneth loved horses, especially his miniature donkey and miniature horse. He was always building things and was the person everyone called when they needed something fixed. He was a true a cowboy cook and loved cooking in his dutch oven. His sourdough biscuits and cobblers were family favorites.

He was a great Dad and Papaw.

His greatest loves were his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Don Sweet.

Survivors include his daughter, Dana Smith and husband Jay; daughter-in-law, Melanie Sweet; granddaughters, Lindsey Sweet and Lacie Smith; grandson, Hunter Smith; great grandchildren, Hadley Smith, Myles Smith, and Emma Smith; and two brothers, David Sweet and wife Fay and Ronald Sweet and wife Donna.
