Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Brooks Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Don McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Kenneth Parker was born on March 22, 1924 in Greeley, Colorado to George and Leola McIlvain Parker. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, Kansas, then received his Bachelor"s degree, and went on to earn his Art degree from Kansas City Art Institute. He was a trumpeter in the U. S. Navy and has been married to his wife, Dee, for 35 years. He was a long time active member of the Amarillo Rotary Club and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon for many years. He was the Art Director and Vice President of McCormick Advertising for over 30 years. He loved golf, sailing, painting and music, and it was his quick wit and good humor that endeared him to his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Dee Parker; children, Christine Parker-Kennedy, and husband, John, Doug Parker and wife, Eileen, Mel Price and wife, Clara, Jenny Lindberg and husband, Mark, and Paula Cornelius and husband, Steven; and fifteen grandchildren.
