Kenneth Wayne Hamblen

Kenneth Wayne Hamblen, 70, lifetime resident of Happy, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Wayside Cemetery with Tom Stribling officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Kenneth was born on May 28, 1955 in Canyon to Alfred and Geraldine (Darst) Hamblen. He grew up in Happy and worked as a farm laborer for many years. He enjoyed working on all kinds of engines and motors, collecting scrap metal, junk iron, and aluminum cans, and spending time with family. He was a fan of NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, Happy Cowboys, Amarillo Sod Poodles, and George Strait.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tracy Hamblen.

Survivors include his two sisters, Vicki Hamblen of Happy and Cathy Ledford and husband, Kenny of Amarillo; uncle, Guy Hamblen of Canyon; and many cousins and extended family.

The family would like to thank the Clarendon Nursing Home for the care and compassion given to Kenneth, especially Toni Smith who had a special rapport with Kenneth.
