Kenneth Erwin

Services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Donna Johnston, retired Methodist clergy, officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery Kenneth Erwin was born on October 8, 1922 in Woodward, OK to Charley and Elta Rittenhouse Erwin. He completed elementary school in the Stone School House near Claude and graduated from Canyon High School. He married Anna Ruth Schmitz in Canyon on August 20, 1941. He loved being a farmer and working with his horses and cattle, and he received the Randall County Top Hand Award in 1991. He also enjoyed fishing and welding. He was a member of Range Riders and the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Jarni Jean. Survivors include his wife, Anna Ruth Erwin, of Amarillo; two daughters, Barbara Sides and husband, Dale, of Fairview, OK, and Karen Breitling and husband, Don, of Amarillo; a brother, Harold Erwin and wife, Billie, of Amarillo; a sister, Donna Erwin, of Austin; six grandchildren, Wendi Neff and husband, Bart, of Lake Jackson, TX, Kiley Breitling and wife, Sherlai, of Keizer, OR, Kari Kelton and husband, Chadd, of Canadian, Brady Breitling and wife, Mylissa, of Amarillo, D"Lee Cook and husband, Nathan, of Corinth, and Cayla Stevens and husband, Bryan, of Sharon, OK; twelve great grandchildren; and for their loving care and devotion, Brenda Christy of Comfort Cottage, Kim Hance, Norma Perez, and Debbie Madrid. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
