Kenneth 'Skeet' Ray Bonds, 88, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Canyon First Assembly of God with Wynes Manney and Craig Griebel officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
Skeet was born on April 12, 1937 in Randall County to T. J. and Eula (Weathers) Bonds. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1955 and married Gaye Nell Gray on December 15, 1958 in Plainview. They were married for 58 years before she preceded him in death on May 7, 2017.
Skeet and Gaye Nell were longtime residents of Dumas where they were members of Dumas Assembly of God. They moved to Amarillo in early 2000 where they became members of Southlawn Assembly of God. They enjoyed cruises, western swing, and playing dominoes and 42. Skeet loved fishing and car races, but he especially enjoyed classic cars. He was adamant about keeping his vehicles clean and will be remembered for his always spotless, extremely shiny cars and pickups.
Skeet was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd Bonds.
Survivors include his daughters, Darla Griebel and husband, Wayne and Treva Daniels and husband, Kip all of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Joshua Daniels and wife, Jessica, Ashleigh Daniels, Randi Smith and husband, Zeke, and Craig Griebel and wife, Holly; eleven great grandchildren, Colton, Callen, Caston and Cobhan, Karson, Ysaiha, Alexavier, and Mia, and Killian, Conrad, and Carter; a niece, Flora Bonds Hardy; brother-in-law, Tom Akins; sister-in-law, Thena Wesley Edwards; and many very special friends.
