Keith Waters

Keith Waters, 79, of Amarillo, died Saturday, September 16, 2017.  Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo with Pastor Lance Harrington officiating.  Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 18, at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.  Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Keith was born on December 13, 1937 in Wheeler to James and Anna B. Gibson Waters.  He graduated from Happy High School in 1956 and married Carollee Hancock in Happy in 1959.  They moved to Stratford in 1966 where he co-owned and operated Stratford Welding with Harry Reynolds.  He was also a licensed auctioneer.  Keith was a member and deacon at the First Baptist Church in Stratford for many years.  He served on the Stratford ISD School Board and was an active member of Stratford Elk Band Boosters.  He also served as General Superintendent of the Sherman County Livestock Show and was active in the Stratford Little League Association.  He was a member of Stratford Lions Club and the American Welding Society.  They moved to Amarillo in 1999 where he became a member of Paramount Baptist Church and attended the Bible Study at Hoyt's garage. Keith's life was about his children and he enjoyed many years of following them in their activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charles Waters, Donald Ray Waters, and Glenn Waters, a nephew, Richard Waters, and a niece, Rhonda Waters Shackelford. Survivors include his wife, Carollee; his five children, Sheri Lehnick and husband Mark, Tim Waters and wife Toni, Karen Hill and husband Craig, Malcolm Waters and wife Cheree, and Chris Waters and wife Kelley; fourteen grandchildren; and close personal friends, Jim and Rinda Allison and their family.
